The LinkedIn Spin

Wrapping up my time at Northwind after 2.5 years of design systems work. Proud of what we built!

The Unfiltered Truth

Eleven rounds of a checkout button. Each VP wanted their own shade of blue. The final one, approved by everyone, was blocked by legal for "looking too much like a competitor's blue". It's still the 2019 button. I have a folder of 11 buttons that are better than the one 4 million people click every day.

Exhibit A · Manager Receipt

"Can we try a blue that feels more 'us' but still tests well?" — VP of Growth, round 9

Eleven buttons vs my 1,412 slides. We should start a support group. With a very well-designed button.
