The Unfiltered Truth
I had the day blocked for three months. Calendar said WEDDING in capitals. A deploy went sideways at 10:40 PM and I didn't respond because I was, in fact, married by then. The Monday 1:1 invite was titled "availability expectations". My wife read it over my shoulder and said "quit" before I'd finished the first sentence. I did, four weeks later, with an offer that pays 22% more.
